Tessa came from Tommy Higgins of Blessed Mastiffs. He called us and hinted he would take her to the pound that day if we didn't show up for her because she wouldn't get pregnant and the neighbors complained that she barked all day. We found her in a tiny, muddy pen with another Mastiff, very thin and extremely timid, with worms and ear infections. Tessa gained over 30 lbs the first month with us and was adopted by a loving,  patient family.
In 2007, Higgins sued me for slander, libel, defamation of character and loss of income for placing the above info on my website. He claimed that because I shared the condition his kennel and dogs were in, no reputable breeders would deal with him and he couldn't sell his puppies for as much as he had planned. When he found out that I had pictures, vet reports, etc well documented, Mr. Higgins offered to drop the charges (twice) if I paid him a couple thousand dollars in cash, then one thousand dollars, and agreed not to counter sue him. Of course I refused and wanted my day in court, so I could make it public record the condition Tessa came to us in. Our case went to court today, and it was almost comical to watch his own witnesses say negative things about him and his dogs' living conditions, watch him get caught up in his lies and watch him change his story over and over. Needless to say, Higgins LOST. I am so happy for poor Tessa, who has a much better life now. 4-16-09
Gracie came to us nearly starved and scarred both physically and emotionally. She has gained over 30 lbs, learned how to trust humans and now lives with our friends Chuck and Holly and her drooly brother Zeus.
Foxy had surgery for a torn ACL and needed a forever home without stairs. She now lives in N.C, where she reigns over her drooly brother General like the queen she knows she is. ->
